Souped up Rice is the perfect chicken side dish recipe for busy families. It is creamy, delicious, and everything goes in one pot. Score!

My family loves it, and it is so easy, it is one of the first things I teach my kids to cook!

I usually serve it with a side of chicken.

My family growing up would make this side dish along with homemade fried chicken. One day my absent-minded uncle poured the ‘can of milk’ into the fryer instead of the pot for the rice. Let me just tell you, no one wants to clean up a fryer that is now filled with oil-covered curdled milk!

So if you decide to make this, just make sure that you know where all the ingredients are going!

Ingredients for Souped up Rice:

•1 can of Cream of chicken soup

• Milk (1 cream of chicken can worth of milk)

•Minute rice (1 cream of chicken can worth of milk)

Measurement are used by the can. Equal part of each. For example if you use 1 can of soup you use the same, now empty, can of milk, and then again with the rice.

this rice side dish is only 3 ingredients, but is perfect to go with any chicken dinner!

Mix together soup and milk in a medium sized pot. Bring to boil watching carefully and stirring frequently because milk burns easily. As soon as it boils, add in your rice. Stir well, then cover and remove from heat. Let sit 5-10 minutes. Rice will be more cooked and the sauce thickens with more time.

It can be served on the side of anything, but we usually eat it with our favorite chicken. Most of the time it is popcorn chicken or chicken strips. that we use with a fryer
