I have a 15 month old. And she loves to babel! She also is obsessed with music and trying to follow along when we dance. It is so freakin cute I can’t stand it!
I noticed that she started tapping on her head when she came and sat on my lap. I knew she was trying to communicate with me, but it took a bit to remember what she wanted. It was to sing the Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes song that we sang yesterday!
Yesterday I was being an exceptionally cool mom, and I song as many action songs as I could remember, and she ate it all up!
But today, I have already forgotten most of them. If she is going to gain all the benefits of action songs, I have to be consistent with singing them to her.
So how am I going to do that if I forget:
A, what songs I’m trying to teach her, and
B, to sing to her every day?

I got onto my computer and took on this cute picture project!
I made a list of the top 10 action songs for toddlers (12 months to 18 months) that my daughter loves, and then made a print out picture for the wall (I actually played around with a few options, they were all so cute that I couldn’t pick one).
Now I have it hanging up in our living room. . . because that is where I sing to her. . . But of course it would work great in a play room or child’s bedroom. And now it is a reminder to help develop her motor, language, and memory skills every day!
