Making sure each day of December is full of Christmas wonder and joy doesn’t have to break the bank. Gather your kiddos around the table every day for a simple Christmas Craft using Construction Paper.
A few years ago, I decided to make December a magical month by planning out a Christmas Activity to do every day. It has changed our family! Presents are not the focal point of the season anymore, the kids could care less. Instead, they adore all of the special family time and attention that comes with these activities.
This year looks a little busier than normal, and I wanted to make sure that we still could do something everyday.
Simple is better – so I gathered 25 construction paper Christmas crafts that I could do with my little ones – 1 for each day.

Wall Christmas Advent Calendar
What will you do with all of these paper projects? Most of them will either go on the tree, hide on your Christmas display shelf (you know you have one) or stick to the wall or windows of your house. One idea is to have an empty walls or window expressly empty just to add some construction paper cheer for the Holidays.
It’s actually a fun way to count down to Christmas
. Use this PRINTABLE ADVENT to count down the days till Christmas:
- cut each calendar day out
- Tape it to the designated wall with enough space under each letter for a craft to be hung there.
- Then have the kids pin/tape their creations under each one as the days progress.
They will get excited as they see how much closer they are getting to Christmas with each project!
You might be asking yourself, “but I can’t hang an ornament, or a reindeer crown on my wall”
But I promise you honey, yes you can. Make an extra one, and tack that piece of paper (no matter how 3D it became) onto that wall for Christmas!
Now you can BUY IT HERE, which of course, since I made it, I would absolutely love! (it’s only $1.50) Or you can make it your first project with the kids (I suggest doing it Last day of November so you are all set).
Common Supplies You’ll Need for all of the crafts.
- Construction Paper (heavy on the white, red, and green)
- Scissors
- Glue
- Tape
- Markers/crayons/colored pencils
- Sharpie
- Ribbon to hang them on the wall/tree
- Cotton Balls

Get Organized.
- Buy, print out, cut out, and tape/tack the Christmas Countdown to an empty wall.
- Grab all the above items, and have it ready in a box that can be grabbed easily each day.
- Print off this Calendar (it has the name of this website and a QR code so you can go to it each day) Hang it on your fridge so everyone knows what to expect.
- Have a wonderful, bonding time with your family a few minutes every December day.
Here is the list of 25 Christmas Crafts with Construction Paper.
(I didn’t make these, but I will this year!)
I also made sure we made as many different kinds as possible. So it’s not 20 different snowflakes. you’re welcome.
Countdown:
Day 25: Snowman
Day 24: Snowflake
Day 23: Reindeer
Day 22: Star
Day 21: Wreath
Day 20: Tree
Day 19: Poinsettia
Day 18: Stocking
Day 17: Grinch Hand Puppet
Day 16: Santa
Day 15: Mistletoe – The instructions call for a lot of supplies, but by just looking at the picture, you can make it simple with red and green construction paper.
Day 14: Ornament
Day 13: Paper dolls gingerbread
Day 12: Christmas Chain – This one is so cute, but you can also keep it simple and just use red and green strips of construction paper.
Day 11: Elves
Day 10: Christmas Lights
Day 9: Candy Cane (there are 2 options on this page. Don’t do the Bingo dots, do the cut out round circles)
Day 8: Hot chocolate coasters – Make these and immediately watch a Christmas movie while drinking hot cocoa (I have a hot cocoa maker that we love) and eating popcorn. Note: White cotton balls work great.
Day 7: Present gift card – I used the gift module, not the tree.
Day 6: Jingle Bells Origami – You can use construction paper by cutting a perfect square
Day 5: Angels
Day 4: Mary and Baby
Day 3: Ugly Christmas sweaters ornament – You can simply use markers to color it how you want, or find random things to glue stuff to it. No need to go out and buy extra stuff for this craft.
Day 2: Christmas Eve Nativity scene – This gives you the option of a printable. But it is easy to just cut out the shapes from the right colored construction paper.
Day 1: Christmas Day! Now we all know how crazy Christmas morning is. But I wanted to fill this spot in too with something special, what the true meaning of Christmas means to my family. I’ll read the Grinch poem to them, and instead of a paper craft, I’ll have my children write/draw a paper/card with what Christmas means to them and what they love most about Christmas.
P.S Last call for the Wall Calendar – If you go to my Etsy store, it will have a 15 second video of the advent on my wall and of my daughter putting up the first craft, if you are trying to decide if you would even want to use it for your family. (totally optional link for the Advent)
